The night before New Year's is a great time to go out and party, and this year it falls on a Sunday night!
James Intveld brings his Swing Sinners brand of music covering swing, jazz and big band sounds with his large band, including horns. Expect a large dance floor and plenty of good food from Campus Jax' kitchen.
James Intveld has primarily been known for his Americana music efforts, growing up soaking in the records he heard his parents playing at home. A big part of his education came from the sounds of acts including Hank Williams, Sr., Dean Martin, Lefty Frizzell and Elvis.
He gained fame as part of the cow punk musical movement in the 1980s, working the same clubs as Dwight Yoakam and Rosie Flores. During that era, he caught the ears of the producers of the “Town South of Bakersfield” compilation series, and was included on the second album of the series.
His career took off, and since then Intveld has broadened his horizons, doing some acting and directing and getting his music placed in hit films, such as “Indian Runner” and “Thing Called Love.” He also starred alongside Billy Bob Thornton in the film “Chrystal.”
The night before New Years Eve, catch another side of the ace music man as he and his talented Swing Sinners show their stuff, performing dance tunes for those with happy feet.
