Chris Gaffney Reunion Party at Scottish Event Center in Long Beach March 30, 2019

This is a reunion for friends and family of the late great Chris Gaffney. Portions of the fundraising proceeds will go toward the Gaffney family. We thank all the artists who are devoting their time to this worthwhile endeavor.

ANNOUNCING: Hacienda Brothers are releasing "Western Soul" as a tribute to their fearless leader, Chris Gaffney. This will be the final Hacienda Brothers record and the first since 2008. It's sixteen songs that were either unreleased or versions that have never been heard before. It will be available both pre-sale and at the Reunion Party. Click on the ticket link to purchase Western Soul.

A Little History: A founding member of the Hacienda Brothers and a renowned west coast country-soul singer/songwriter, Chris Gaffney moved people as much with his smile as with his trademark croon. Gaffney passed away in 2008 after a courageous battle with liver cancer and is survived by his family and the litany of musical heroes he called friends and collaborators.
Gaffney's best friend and musical compatriot Dave Alvin put together an album of Gaffney's songs to raise money for his mounting medical bills. Unfortunately, that project became a posthumous tribute after Gaffney's passing on April 17 that year.
In 2009, the tribute to Gaffney was released, dubbed A Man of Somebody's Dreams: A Tribute to the Songs of Chris Gaffney, featuring a long list of country, rock and Americana artists like Joe Ely, Los Lobos, Calexico, Alejandro Escovedo, Tom Russell, James McMurtry, fellow Hacienda Brother Dave Gonzalez and more, all weighing in with their versions of Gaffney's classic country tunes.
Dave Alvin's Yep Roc label mates, Peter Case, Jim Lauderdale, The Iguanas, John Doe, Big Sandy w/ Los Straitjackets and Robbie Fulks also contribute tracks that, much like Gaffney, range from fiercely rocking to hair-raisingly poignant. Now, 10 years later, family, friends and fans unite for a reunion party that showcases not only the best of Chris Gaffney and his bands The Hacienda Brothers and The Cold Hard Facts, but also many of his musical heroes.
For this show that marks the 10th year of his passing, both the Hacienda Bros. (led by Dave Gonzalez) and the Cold Hard Facts (with Dave Alvin and multiple guest artists) have been reunited exclusively for this rare gathering, which includes a performance by his friends James Intveld & the Honky Tonk Palominos, Jann Browne and Matt Barnes, and Kid Ramos among others.
The site for this reunion party is the Scottish Rite Event Center at 855 Elm St. in Long Beach, a gem of a vintage palace built in 1927 featuring a beautiful ballroom with full stage for our very special event.
A buffet dinner is optional, but advance purchase is recommended. The all-ages evening will commence at 6 pm with a stocked beer & wine bar, hardwood dance floor and plenty of free parking onsite.
Table seats may be purchased at www.StellarShows.net Text 714-809-6146 for more information.
